The Satanic Trinity, Part 2: A Beast from the Earth
Text: Revelation 13:11-18

Chapter Summary: In this chapter, two beasts are revealed, which together with the dragon, form a Satanic trinity that claims universal dominion while deceiving the world and making war on the saints.

I. The Identity of the Beast, vv. 11-12.
A. v. 1: “out of the earth.”
B. v. 1: “two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.”
C. v. 2 also contains an important clue: “causes the earth … to worship the first beast.”

II. The Enticements of the Beast, vv. 13-14.
A. v. 13: “He performs great signs… fire from heaven.”
B. v. 14: “…telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the first beast.”

III. The Authority of the Beast, vv. 15-18.
A. His Civil Authority.
B. His Spiritual Authority.
