3. Know thyself

Ministry School 2008: ‘Know Thyself'
This phrase, allegedly inscribed in the forecourt of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, contains an element of the truth. Understanding the true nature of humanity is vital if we are to have a valid ministry to others or even to keep ourselves in spiritual health. Of course, such knowledge is only to be had by revelation. We need to understand created humanity as morally innocent, relationally pure and vocationally clear. Our present understanding of moral innocence is conditioned by our memories of guilt. But what if there were no memories?
