Elect exiles are not citizens of this present country, but citizens of another place - a heavenly one. The kingdom of God, the new heavens and new earth. Whenever we find ourselves assailed with hopelessness, we can be assured that we have gotten our eyes off that which is eternal, that which is our real life, and we are focusing on this perishing and passing-away world.
