In this chapter, we cover the genealogy of Esau as the nation of Edom is founded as an assimilation with the descendants of Seir in the Negev and Sinai Peninsula regions, along with a daughter of Ishmael and her offspring with Esau.
This gives us the background that will help us as we move forward with the history of Israel, as the Edomites (and Amalekites) play an important role throughout Old Testament history, the birth of Jesus Christ and even right up to the end of Daniel's 70th Week and Revelation 12.
