Sweet and Sober Truths for Bitter Providences

So what ought God’s people to do when they find themselves in a Bitter Providence? They must (1) strive to be faithful to their Lord, (2) draw near to Him, and (3) love Him… serve Him… honor Him! That’s the point of Dan. 1! What is there to encourage them to this end? The knowledge that God is a Great God who Rules Kings and Nations! That means, even in our valley, God remains on the throne ever and always bringing about His purpose and will!
