Blindness Removed / Blindness Revealed

When Jesus wanted to teach the people, in a very practical way, that He was the bread of life, He used an object lesson they would never forget; He fed a multitude with five loaves of bread and two fish. When He wanted to underscore His teaching that He was 'the resurrection and the life,' He raised from the grave a man who had been dead for four days. And after calling Himself the 'light of the world,' He showed Himself to be the light of one poor man who had been blind from birth. In this second message from John 9, we see this formerly blind man interrogated by the Pharisees, cast out of their presence (and evidently excommunicated) and ultimately sought out and received by Jesus Himself.
