The Southern Campaign

The conclusion to the battle against Gibeon is detailed with the capture, subjugation, and death of the five Amorite kings. After this the conquest of the Southern areas of Canaan is given. The people begin to receive what the Lord had promised them. But the remainder of Joshua and the early parts of Judges will show how “taking” the land is different from “driving out” the inhabitants.
