Show Me Your Way

After Moses moved his tent outside the camp and called it the tabernacle of meeting and started meeting with God there, he then went back to God and appealed to Him about bringing up the people. Moses started by asking God who was going to go with them. God had told them that He would decide what to do with them and Moses requested that God tell him who will go with him whether it will be God Himself or whether He will send His angel. Moses appealed to God based upon God telling him that God knew him by name and the he had found grace in the sight of God. Moses desired to know God more and to have a deeper understanding of the ways of God. He wanted to know what God was going to do knowing that would increase his knowledge of God and also that it would be grace toward Moses. God relented from sending the angel and instead said He would go with Moses. Moses responded by saying keep Your people here in Your presence at Mt. Sinai rather than going into the land flowing with milk and honey without Your Presence. The mark of being the people of God is that His Presence was with them. That continued with Israel until the veil in the temple was torn at the death of Christ, but it is still the mark of the people of God that makes them holy is the Presence of God in the Holy Spirit abiding in believers.
