04 - Believe and Be Baptised

Just before he ascended back into glory, Jesus issued a
command to his disciples. We have it in various forms:
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to
me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with
you always, to the very end of the age. (Matt. 28:18-20).
Repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in
[my] name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are
witnesses of these things (Luke 24:47-48).
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on
you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in
all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts
1:8).
And then:
Go into all the world and preach the good news to all
creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved,
but whoever does not believe will be condemned (Mark
16:15-16).
It is this last that I want to speak about to you at this time.
