06 - Appendix 1: The Reformed and ‘The Seeking Sinner'

Let me show one of the Reformed master-preachers actually making this mistake when addressing sinners. I take as my example Jonathan Edwards and his preaching on Acts 16:29-31; that is, the record of the experience of the jailer who, when convicted of sin, asked Paul and Silas what he should do to be saved. Bear in mind, as I showed in my Christ is All, that Edwards himself had been seriously damaged by preparationism and how, to get out of the anguish it had caused him, he foolishly took yet another dose of the very medicine which got him into trouble in the first place! Inexplicable! Now listen to him preaching on Acts 16:29-31.
