A Devotion on Death (Facing Death and Cancer)

We have a bit of a personal interlude this week with Revelation 21:4 (and 2:11; 20:6; 22:10) as the basis of our study on facing death and cancer. Pastor Grant first plays RC Sproul Jr's recent message, "God in the Wasteland" (See here for the video message: http://www.ligonier.org/learn/series/suffering-and-the-sovereignty-of-god/god-in-the-wasteland/), which was passed on to him a week ago by a fellow pastor in San Diego (who had been through cancer, as well had his wife) to strengthen Pastor Grant and his wife (who at 35 was recently diagnosed with colon cancer that had spread to her liver). Thankfully, the chemotherapy is going very well, but Pastor felt the message was meant to be shared now as part of this study and for our congregation going through this difficult providence with the Van Leuvens. He heard so many messages within this week on RefNet.fm that dealt with death so profoundly, it seemed to confirm the timing.
