019 Too Lazy to be Saved: Does the Beginning of Your Christian Life Really Matter?

350

Christian finds Simple, Sloth and Presumption sleeping on the lawn with chains around their ankles, not far from the road. They consider themselves safe because they don't see any danger, they are enjoying their sleep, and they have smart answers to Christian's questions. This sermon is a wake-up call to millions who fit this description.
Not long thereafter, two men come tumbling over the wall of salvation, and presume to follow the road to the rewards of the Christian life; the Celestial City. Here the listener is forced to answer the question: Does the beginning of the Christian life really make a difference, as long as I am living a moral life? Far too many in our day answer 'No', while the truth shouts out a resounding 'Yes!'. This sermon shows the destinction between those who come to God through Christ and those who depend on their own smart imaginations to get to the rewards God has in store for His people.
