Hungry?

The Requirement

Hungering and thirsting are metaphors for an interest, longing, or desire.

A Steady Diet:

Watch what you eat. Jeremiah 2:12-13 “. . . My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” NLT

Weigh what you eat.

Welcome what you eat. (Ps. 42:1-2; 63:1; 82:2; 143:6)

The Reason – “Righteousness”

Imputed Righteousness

Imparted Righteousness

The Reward – “Satisfied'

Application:

  1. What does it mean to hunger and thirst after righteousness?

  2. What am I hungering and thirsting for in life? Complete this sentence “I would be happy if ____.” “For me, living is ____, and to die is ____.”

  3. How serious am I about having a right relationship with God? Do I crave for a mature, intimate relationship with Christ? How strongly do I crave that kind of relationship with Him?

  4. Describe your daily walk with Christ. (Bible reading, prayer time, your plan to share your faith.)

  5. Are you satisfied with Christ? (Be honest) “Thou has made us for Thyself, and our heart is restless, until I rest in thee.” Augustine
