Behold Mine Elect

The previous chapter ends with the word "confusion". The text begins with "Behold my servant", a reference to Christ. He and His Gospel are sublimely simple. God elected. Christ earned righteousness. God gladly accepted and freely imputed righteousness. In that act, God's people were forgiven, redeemed and justified. How simple! This passage is fulfilled by Jesus, recorded in Matthew 12:17-21. May God give grace to look exclusively to Christ.
