Unmerited favor. God’s free action for the benefit of his people. God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense.

The heart of flesh is superior to the heart of stone. The stoney heart is rebellious. Nasty inhospitable soil in which the outward call – the preaching of the word – withers and dies. The heart of flesh receives the word – it hears, understands, embraces, and is filled with the glorious gospel.
