From shame to glory

158 ( 127 | 31 )

What is this great salvation that Hebrews warns us not to ignore? According to Hebrews 2:5-18 it involves the complete restoration of walking tall and free in creation liberated from the fear of death.

It was Jesus who walked tall before us all as a true human being, not by being untouched by this world’s sin and death but by suffering death for everyone. In doing so He blazed a trail of love to the Father and restored us without shame to the glory that God had planned for humanity from the beginning of time. As One who knows the weakness and temptation of living as one of us in this fallen world He is well able to represent our need before God and at the same time come along aside us in our struggle with temptation.

Here is a salvation that is more than being delivered from eternal judgment while still leaving us cowering in the back pew. Here is a salvation that takes us out of shame and restores us to sonship and glory – not uncontested, but wonderfully supported by One who has been there before us!
