Strangers and Exiles

230

Hebrews 11:13-16 is an interlude between two sections that discuss the faith of Abraham. This interlude is meant to encourage the Hebrew Christians to seek eternal things, rather than to apostatize due to earthly persecution. God gave great promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, but they died without physically seeing the realization of those promises. But despite the fact that they had character flaws and weaknesses, they were men of faith. They walked in faith to the end of their lives.
