FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT BY HOLDING A GOOD CONSCIENCE

Main Idea: To fight the good fight, we must hold a good conscience!

1. A charge for “child Timothy”: “Fight the good fight” (18a)
   a. According to the earlier prophecies about you (18b)
   b. Holding faith (19a)
   c. Holding a good conscience (19a)

2. Result of rejecting a good conscience (19b)
   a. Suffering shipwreck of the faith (19b)

3. “Shipwreck” examples: Hymenaeus and Alexander (20a)
   a. I have delivered them to Satan (20b)
   b. Purpose: So that they may learn not to blaspheme (20c)

Applications
We are to go into ministry based upon the Word of God.
We are to fight the good fight!
We are to keep the faith, but also keep a good conscience!
We are to deal with false teachers.
We are to hope that God will grant them repentance!
