Christ's Constraining Love
Why do so many today show so little zeal for Christ and the things of God? Why are their lives like a roller coaster? Why are so many content with a barren, superficial profession of faith?
In these instances, the answer is a loss of, or absence of, love for Christ. There is a differene between knowing about a person and knowing the person.
All our works are not esteemed by God if there is no charity--it is this which inspires and constrains us.
Where there is no love for Christ, there is no cross-bearing. Those who love not the Lord Jesus Christ are said to be Anathema.
Head knowledge goes only as far as human reasoning and understanding reach. Those compelled by love for Christ will go beyond human understanding into faith, as Abraham did when he offered up Isaac.
