The Body of Sin

114

How clean is the inner man of the new creation? It appears that upon the death of my body there is nothing in the Christian that is unclean and so our bodies will go directly into the presence of the Lord Jesus and enter God's holy heaven. Remember, 'to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.' So if our spirits are clean; if the regenerate person is clean in the inner man then where does sin reside...where is sin in relationship to that person? The argument of this message is that sin now resides in our flesh. Though sin is in our flesh Paul says the he is not in the flesh. The regenerate person's life is not in the flesh... this means that even sin expresses itself upon our lives differently than it does on the life of the unregenerate. It means that there is a seperation between the essence of who we now are in Christ and the sin that still roils in our flesh. This seperation sets the stage for a fight against the sin in our flesh that leaves us feeling the wretchedness of our body of death but also demonstrates that we are not in the same corner as sin. We are in opposite corners from the sin in our flesh and we are now in the Authority of Christ to come out swinging against it.
