Heb # 13 Come boldly to the throne of grace

We have to understand God's way of salvation or else we will build our hope on sinking sand. It is not enough to be religious; one has to come to the knowledge of God's way of entering His rest.

Joshua failed to bring rest because he was a type, but also because he circumcised the people with flint stones-inferior instruments when it comes to salvation.

Christ is the Word of God-double-edged sword who is LIVING and POWERFUL and SHARPER than the tools that Joshua used.

And that to say Christ is the better Physician when it comes to salvation than Joshua or Moses because He has sharper tools-His rest is therefore permanent.

Christ the Word of God is omniscient-He is the discerner of every one of our thoughts and for God's people it is not supposed to scare them. Rather it is to their advantage that He knows all their intimate details. He does not use knowledge of their sin to scare them.

WHY? Because He is the faithful and compassionate High Priest- who sympathizes with their every struggle. He is intimate with everyone of them and so He does what?

He bids them to come boldly-that is, without fear-to the throne of grace that they may find not money but grace and mercy for help in time of need. The sinner is a grace and mercy case all the days of their earthly sojourn and we have a High Priest fit for us. That and more!
