Results of Genuine Salvation

Sinful conditions, sinful desires, and the lusts they produce are the result of the fallen sinful nature every person is born with. The effects of this depravity is expressed and demonstrated in different ways but has the same root cause. The salvation that God provides to those born again includes spiritual cleansing, a new mind, and a new heart with righteous desires and self-control. The identity of those born again is with Christ, hence called Christians. Likewise, the old self and identity with it is left behind, put aside, repented of, no longer characterizing those who have been saved. While there will be times the believer struggles with sin it is no longer the pattern of life nor characteristic of who each child of God is becoming.
