Not only did Pharaoh not believe, neither did Israel. They thought that Moses had just made their condition worse--had made them stink before the Egyptians. People often prefer their chains to the dangers of liberty. Israel's spiritual chains were far more binding that those iron ones fashioned by the Egyptians.
