Parable of the Watchful Servants

Luke 12 is best studied as a whole. The second parable rests on the first. It is followed by a purpose-statement by the Lord Jesus. It has a fearful feeling to it. Jesus told His disciples that He came to send fire on the earth; to bring division rather than peace; and to divide family members from each other. Jesus presented Himself as having a controversial message. His message is called the Gospel of peace; it is to those who know the Gospel.
