Preserve Me, O God

Psalm 16 is referred to in the New Testament two times. Peter referenced it in his sermon on Pentecost (Acts 2:25-33). Paul referenced it while on his first recorded preaching tour (Acts 13:35-38). Both of these leading apostles understood this golden psalm to refer to the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact, we are privileged to hear the Son, while in His humanity, petition the Father. The first word
preserve suggests His ominous death by the Cross.
