Prayer Is Not About Us; It's About God

Praying "in Jesus name" isn't a magic formula to get our prayers answered. However, praying in the name of Jesus is a recognition of His authority and lordship over our lives. Therefore praying in His name means that ultimately we are submitting to His will rather than our own. It means we realize that prayer isn't about us; it's about God.
