THE GOD WHO REMEMBERS, PART 2:
THE MYSTERY OF PROVIDENCE
TEXT: 2 Kings 8:1-3

SUMMARY: This account of God’s dealings with the Shunemite woman as He remembers her faith, provides for her needs, and pleads her cause, demonstrates the nature of His covenant with His children.

I. GOD REMEMBERED THE WOMAN’S FAITH.
II. GOD PROVIDED FOR THE WOMAN’S NEEDS. Just two points under this heading for this morning. FULLNESS and FOCUS.
A. The Fullness of God’s Providence. God “does uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all his creatures and things” including:

1. The physical world.
   2.  The animal creation.
2. The Nations.
3. Individual human beings.
   5.  To the fortuitous events or "chance happenings."

B. The Focus of God’s Providence.

1. Focused as to its time.
2. Focused as to its place.
3. Focused as to its beneficiaries.
