1 John 3:1-3: We Will Be Like Him

Not only will the members of the New Covenant all know God, we will all be like Him as well, because He adopts us into His family and calls us His children.

As earthly children imitate their earthly parents, we are called to imitate Him--in being holy, and even in suffering.

We can become children of God, sons of God, only because God loves His perfect, unique Son. Through Christ, we can be God's sons and fellow heirs.

And this is the exact manner in which there is no more male or female in the New Covenant, not that there are no longer any gender distinctions or distinctions in gender roles, but that women and girls have the same right of inheritance of salvation as men and boys do. They too can be "sons" of God through Christ in this manner, as heirs.
