The Day God Turned The World Upside Down

The theme of chapter 8 is that by completing his mission, Jesus Christ, Our High Priest, radically changed the whole system of the operation of the world. The writer explains this change by discussing the following five truths:

1. Jesus Christ provides for the real, heavenly needs of His people from His place in heaven
2. The earthly priests provided only copies and shadows of these heavenly things
3. Moses provided only a copy of heavenly things
4. The ministry of Jesus Christ is a more excellent ministry than the ministry of the priests in the Old Testament, because He is the Mediator of a better covenant
5. The new covenant made the covenant with Moses obsolete and changed the operation of the world.
