Submit in Everything?

Many people today find the word “submission” offensive when applied to marriage. However, it is the word the Holy Spirit inspired writers of Scripture chose to describe the role of the wife. It is clear from the context that, when the Apostle Paul says the wife is to submit to her husband “in everything,” he is not saying that the husband has absolute authority over his wife. A wife is to submit to her husband “in everything without distinction,” not “everything without exception.”
