Bowing to the Authority of King Jesus: Christians & Civil Government

Pastor Stoos uses the reading from the Prophet Isaiah by Jesus as He begins His ministry in the 4th Chapter of Luke's Gospel to discuss proper civil liberties and how Christians should understand, defend and practice them.
Using the upcoming 4th of July celebrations as a background, Pastor Stoos warns about the two cliffs on either side of the proper path for Christians to take when considering their involvement in the realm of civil government. Neither inactions nor improper actions should be acceptable to faithful Christians.
Pastor Stoos suggests three important priorities: First Christians should learn to understand the Biblical foundation of our civil liberties and it stands in stark contrast with what the humanists believe and promote.
Second, he shows that Christians must take seriously the defense of these liberties using the Apostle Paul as a prime example.
Finally, he shows from Acts chapter four that Christians must demonstrate how we live in the liberty that Christ has given us before a watching world.
