Pastor R. Rubino

Testosterone Gospel Part 4 (“Intolerant Paul’): Exposition of Galatians 1:18-24

1)The Apostle Paul learned the truths of the Gospel independently. Paul did not meet an apostle of Jesus Christ until three years after his conversion. Paul went to meet with the Apostles for fellowship, not further revelation.(Galatians 1:18,19; Acts 15:5-21)

2)Paul traveled to the regions of Syria and Cilicia, and was unknown to the Churches of Judea. How ironic Saul (A Royal name) would now travel back to Tarsus as Paul (Little One), enlarging the Kingdom of Messiah!(Galatians 1:20-22; Acts 9:1-11)

3)Saul the destroyer of the God’s people became God’s sovereign choice to convert the Gentiles. The Apostles and the Church praised God for Paul’s conversion.(Galatians 1:23,24; Romans 28:17-28)

EASTON BIBLE DICTIONARY
(2.) The son of Alphaeus, or Cleopas, "the brother" or near kinsman or cousin of our Lord (Galatians 1:18, 19), called James "the Less," or "the Little," probably because he was of low stature. He is mentioned along with the other apostles (Matthew 10:3; Mark 3:18; Luke 6:15). He had a separate interview with our Lord after his resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:7), and is mentioned as one of the apostles of the circumcision (Acts 1:13). He appears to have occupied the position of head of the Church at Jerusalem, where he presided at the council held to consider the case of the Gentiles (Acts 12:17; 15:13-29: 21:18-24). This James was the author of the epistle which bears his name.
