A General Overview of the History of the Reformation
201
Why is Reformation History, or for that matter, all history, important for the Christian? Is a careful and insightful study of history and the working of God's Providence commanded in Scripture? If it is, then why are so many professing Christians void of the knowledge of history and its relevance to our modern age? This lecture examines the importance of History from God's providential workings with a special emphasis upon the European reformation of the 16th century. This is a general overview introducing the major tenants of the Biblical faith so that the Christian might become true scholars of the Word and its relevance to the history of the world, as it is to be applied to all life.
