Honoring God in Leadership

184 ( 149 | 35 )

God is impartial, and He desires for His family to be impartial as well. This impartiality is reflected in the bond between elders and the congregation. Elders who labor strenuously to proclaim God’s truth are to be provided for and protected from gossip and slander. Elders who sin are to be corrected, at times publicly. And no one serving as an elder should be appointed hastily. "I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing with partiality” (1 Timothy 5:21, NKJV). So far, our study of 1 Timothy 5 has shown us what it is to honor God in our relationships, and in our charity. In this message, we’ll continue our look at God’s design for His family with “Honoring God in leadership.”
