(43) God Will Care for You on Your Journey
Series Acts 2021
The first part of Acts 28 is about the last leg of a journey that brought the Apostle Paul to Rome. Luke's little phrase is packed with meaning: "And so we came to Rome" (Acts 28:14). Years earlier God had confirmed Paul's desire to preach the gospel in Rome (cf. Acts 19:21 and 23:11). And now it has happened. God kept his promise. He always keeps his promises. God said of Paul, "he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel" (Acts 9:15). God's missionaries have gone from Jerusalem to Judea to Samaria to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).
This story illustrates God's perfect track record for doing exactly what he decides to do. God is working out his will in our lives too. We don't know what our future holds but this story tells us three things that we too can expect as God works out his will in our lives.
