Lawlessness Abounding

As protests against police brutality have spread across America in the past week, there have also been chaotic eruptions of violence, looting and rioting in many cities.
Now, some are even calling for defunding or disbanding the police completely, and such ideas are gaining the endorsement of prominent politicians and pundits.
Is this a legitimate option for us to consider? Where will it lead?
