Christ's Priesthood Greater than the Levitical Priesthood

1. Melchizedek was greater than Abraham (vv.4-8).

i. Abraham's dignity.
ii. Abraham gave Melchizedek tithes (vv.4-6).
iii. Melchizedek blessed Abraham (vv.6-7).

2. Melchizedek was greater than Levi (vv.5,8-10).

3. Christ's Priesthood is greater than the Levitical Priesthood (vv.11-17).

i. Another priesthood was needed (v.11).
ii. If the priesthood changes, it requires a change of the law (v.12).
iii. Christ is a priest according to another priesthood (vv.13-14).
iv. Christ isn't a priest per the ceremonial law, but per His eternal power (vv.15-17).
