• Trembling Dismay – heart melts away – courage lost (v. 15; Joshua 2:9-11; )
• Paralyzing Dread and Fear – “still as a stone” – resistance would be as nothing; stupidified silence (v. 16; Deuteronomy 11:25; Job 40:3-5)
Conclusion and Application
• The Lord Redeems His Elect & Leads Them in Their Journey of Faith – No Enemy Can Prevail Against Them (Matthew 16:18; Romans 8:31ff)
• The Holy Spirit is Given - to “bear” any Attack (1 Corinthians 10:13) – to have the Courage and Boldness to Fight against any Attack with the Spiritual Weapon of the Gospel of Truth (2 Corinthian 10:4) – Christ is with Us Always (Matthew 28:18-20)
• Only in Christ are we able to fight the battles that rage against us, being governed by His Word and Spirit (Heidelberg Catechism #123)
