International adoption is under assault - which is no surprise when we realize adoption is not charity, it's spiritual warfare (and because it's such a clear picture of the gospel, it will be hated by some). I experienced some spiritual warfare in our adoption and hope this message will help us think biblically and theologically about these questions on our news (cultural continuity and identity, etc.) which are not new. In cross-ethnic adoptions in Genesis 48 and Exodus 2 and when Gentiles were adopted into the Jewish church in Acts, similar issues were raised.
