When God Hides Himself

"Go, take yourself a wife of harlotry and children of harlotry, for the land has committed great harlotry by departing from the Lord."

So he went and took Gomer... Hosea 1:2-3

To uncompromisingly obey God, will always involve a Risk of your Reputation. The degree of RISK, is at the mercy and grace of the Caller.

The book of Hosea is such a great word that helps and encourages my heart. Hosea, a prophet, was told by God to marry a harlot. He was an illustration of how God was with the people of Israel that had played the harlot with Him. He told Hosea that she would be unfaithful and leave him and her children... because she would only see them as consequences of the job. She didn't see Hosea as a husband but as a master because he bought her as many other men had done in the past. The kids she had we not children of love but by products of her profession. But Hosea's relentless love and mercy would eventually change the way she viewed him. God told him to go buy her again (Hosea 3)... and eventually she wouldn't see him as her master but as her husband (Hosea 2). The picture is how many feel obligated to do right for a Creator but have no relationship with a Companion and friend in Jesus. Grace is what changes the heart of a man to fall in love with Jesus, His people and His word and ways. Keep living for Him, praying for God to pour out His grace and mercy upon Dan and wait, with great expectation, and joy, for Him to do so (Psalm 119:49-50).
