Love Your Enemies

The Gospel of the Kingdom - Message 35 - Love Your Enemies - Matthew 5:43-48. The rabbis taught Israel to love their neighbor and hate their enemies, defining their enemies as anyone not a Jew. This animosity was seen as a religious duty! Jesus teaches that the law finds its fulfillment in loving our neighbor and our enemies, too. We find that the proof of being a son or daughter of God is demonstrated in our love for others and the standard for our love is the love of God given through Christ at the cross.
