John the Baptist and Jesus the Lord

How would you have responded if you had seen John the Baptist?
John 1 makes it clear that first-century Jewish leaders were not sure what to think about this man who was the forerunner of Christ. He reminded them of Elijah, and he himself said he was fulfilling the prophecies of Isaiah—yet his ministry was different than anything that the nation of Israel had seen in a long time.
