The Ethiopian Eunuch

The surprising story of the conversion of the Ethiopian eunuch demonstrates the power of the gospel to spread in ever widening circles. Philip, led by the Spirit, arrived at just the moment when this Gentile convert to Judaism was struggling to understand Isaiah 53.

Whilst possibly more Jew than Gentile, this eunuch's baptism is an early indication of the Spirit's program to open the Kingdom to the full inclusion of Gentiles. We are left to imagine what might be the harvest of this man's witness in the years to come after he returns to his own country. Under the Spirit's leading we should not limit how God may use us in our day in the powerful action of His gospel.
