The Spirit as The Present Revealer of Christ

When Jesus spoke to his disciples of the Spirit coming to guide them into all the truth, he said to them, 'He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you (John 16.14)'. Two of the most important aspects of Christ that the Spirit declares are His Lordship and His Sonship. The Spirit convinces us of both through a revelation of Christ's Cross and Resurrection and the forgiveness of sins. Knowing that Jesus Christ is Lord enables us to live securely and at peace in a chaotic and unpredictable world. Knowing that Jesus is the Son of God gives us access to the Father so that we have intimacy and communion with Him as members of his household. The Spirit's ministry of revealing Christ to us is vital to his redemptive work having powerful affect in our lives.
