A Gay Christian Conference?

514

In a recent article on TGC, Kevin DeYoung writes:

"You may have heard about the upcoming Revoice Conference coming to Memorial Presbyterian Church (PCA) in St. Louis at the end of July. The goal of the conference is stated succinctly: “Supporting, encouraging, and empowering gay, lesbian, same-sex-attracted, and other LGBT Christians so they can experience the life-giving character of the historic Christian tradition.” The plenary speakers are well-known in the celibate gay identity movement, a movement in which many authors and writers are happy to embrace the self-description “gay Christian.”

He goes on in the article to take issue with the wording of the conference. Specifically with the term "sexual minorities".

While a appreciate much of what he has to say in the article, the tone seems much too tepid. Certainly this conference is worthy of much stronger condemnation then just being concerned about the wording.

On the broadcast today, I will speak with Janet Mefferd who has been exposing and opposing the errors of the REVOICE conference on her radio broadcast.
