James: Faith and Works

When Paul comes to Jerusalem, he meets with James (Acts 21:18)--the elder in the Jerusalem church who is still highly esteemed by the saints. Since this is the last time James is mentioned in Acts, it is a good point to give an overview the New Testament letter James wrote, before zeroing in on his teaching on Biblical Faith in James 1-2.

The main points, then, of this sermon center on James' teaching on Faith and the Word (ch1) and Faith and Works (ch2). God graciously implants the Word in the sinner to bring forth life and Faith, which shows forth Works befitting the new life of the firstfruit of God.
