The Mighty Works of God

The basic sermon idea is "The filling of the Holy Spirit produces the speaking forth of the mighty acts of God.' As we contemplate what "mighty acts" they were praising God for, from the context of what follows we surmise that they included the outpouring of the Spirit, the miracles done by the Messiah, the raising up of Jesus from the dead, the ascension and exaltation of Christ Jesus, the promise of salvation for all the nations, and the formation of the Church. As we seek and allow the Spirit to fill our hearts, we receive the strong desire to naturally "speak forth the mighty acts of God." When the Spirit fills us, we receive the inspiration to go out and proclaim the mighty acts of God in the sending of his Son for the redemption of his people.
