On to Rome

110 ( 84 | 26 )

Held in confinement by the Roman occupiers, the Apostle Paul, with few sympathetic visitors, was reassured of God's gracious blessings. The Lord stood by him, as He will indeed stand by us. Paul was strengthened by God's 'Be of good cheer', so may we. The Lord is not without feeling or compassion: He knows us, and is aware of all our situations.

The Lord owns the testimony of His people, and for Paul, as it may sometimes be for us also, that The Lord's plans may be revealed, in our most testing times.

The truth is, that God is able to use those with enmity towards Him, for His glory. Such it was in Paul's case. Little did they realise, but those who were devising schemes to kill the apostle, little knew that they were serving the purposes of God, for Paul would ultimately end up in Rome, where he would bear a great testimony to the Gospel of his Saviour, Jesus Christ
