Raised For Our Justification

The table before us is set for the celebration of the Lord's Supper. The purpose of this table is not to feed our stomachs, but to satisfy our souls. The table calls us to remembrance of the past and hope in the future ('til he comes). This is strange language to use of one who has died. But it is not strange language for Jesus Christ who died and is risen from the dead. Paul's point is that Christ not only lived for us and died for us: he was raised to life for our justification...
