Why Pray for Leaders?

The higher the political office people hold, the greater temptations they face. And when they fail, their guilt is greater because of their office and the impact of their decisions on others. We should pray for political leaders, not only that we might lead 'a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty,' but also because of the tremendous guilt that leaders carry. We should pray that their guilt brings them to Calvary rather than to the mental asylum or the bottle.
